Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I register online?

Yes! this year we will make online registration available for the first time. This online registration will open on Oct 7 at 9:00am. Registration for basketball players will close once we reach our maximum capacity.

Cheer registration will remain open until November 1.

Trinity Members MUST register via traditional registration in the Church Office beginning Aug 28 and ending on Sept. 25.

  • Can I register early?

Sorry, due to the overwhelming demand for our program, we do not allow non-Trinity members to register before October 7 @ 9:00AM. Our members do receive priority in registration. Typically, our membership accounts for only 15% of all of the registered participants.
  • When will I be notified of my child’s registration status?

Registration is conducted on a first come/first serve basis. We anticipate filling our 240 spots for basketball players this season on the first registration day. Once this deadline occurs, or the leagues are full (whichever comes first), we will then begin notifying families of their status. Our preference to notify families is via email.
  • Can I transfer my registration to another Upward Program?

All Upward basketball and cheerleading programs are independently run by the host church. Trinity has no other affiliation with Upward programs in the Raleigh area. If you are unable to play in our league, we will refund/return your registration and fees. You will need to register again with another program.
  • What are the cost for registration?

Each player or cheerleader is subject to a $110 registration fee. All online registrations can accept credit cards. We accept checks and cash for Trinity Member registration but no credit cards in the Church Office. Please make checks out to “Trinity Baptist Church” or “TBC”. Scholarships are available for families with a need for assistance.
  • When does the season begin?

Please refer to our “Important Dates to Remember” for dates and times for Evaluations, Orientation, Practices, Games, etc.
  • What are the age requirements?

Our Kindergarten league is designed for all boys and girls in Kindergarten or of Kindergarten age (according to the WCPSS requirements). The Kindergarten league is a co-ed league with mixed gender teams.

Our Girls Leagues have two divisions, 1st through 3rd Grade, and 4th through 6th Grade. Teams are all girl squads and are based upon the players current Grade, not on age or birthday.

Our Boys Leagues have two divisions, 1st and 2nd Grade, and 3rd and 4th Grade. Teams are all boy squads and are based upon the players current Grade, not on age or birthday.

  • What are the goal heights and basketball sizes used in the league?

Our Kindergarten League uses a 27.0″ basketball, all other leagues use a 28.5″ or standard women’s size basketball. The goal height of 8′ is used for Kindergarten, 1st – 3rd Grade Girls and 1st & 2nd Grade Boys League. Our 4th – 6th Grade Girls and 3rd & 4th Grade Boys league play on a 9′ goal.
